Dancing Screen

A Kinetic Architectural Screen Generating Power from the Sun

Dancing Screen represents the experiment for creating lightweight, kinetic architectural screens that can supply renewable energy generated from sunlight, making it available to people in public spaces. The artwork is composed of flexible photoluminescent modules integrating thin-film photovoltaics, which evoke a dance by moving in the wind and can glow in the dark without electric power. Passers-by can plug their portable electronic devices into the artwork for a free charge.

The artwork was exhibited in autumn 2013 in Michigan as part of the solar art festival Fall In... Art and Sol.
